Sea Isle City
I’ve gone to LBI and Wildwood most of my life. This year was the first year I was introduced to Sea Isle City. My brother-in-law’s parents bought a condo in Sea Isle this year. My sister, niece, mother and myself went down for four days, and stayed at the condo. Oh my gosh, not only was it gorgeous, it was right on the bay and had beautiful sunset views.
The area itself has stayed nice and offers lots of condos and houses. As I walked to the beach, I was looking at the homes, and thinking about how much I’d love to own one. It’s just out of my budget right now. I saw this one condo that just made my belly ache, as I walked past. I was like, that’s the one that I’d want! Of course, it wasn’t for sale, so that would be a problem!
One of the things I liked about Sea Isle City over my beloved LBI is that the water is shallow for awhile, like down in Wildwood. That means the waves are out just a little farther. I could put my beach chair right in the water, and I really enjoyed that. The water is a little choppier at the edge in LBI because the beach is steeper right near the water’s edge, due to loss of sand. They’re working on replenishing that.
If you’re looking to buy a home in the Sea Isle City area, you should check out Sea Isle Shore Homes. Gerri Rescigno can help you with all your shore home needs. She has a not only a website, but keeps a current blog full of useful information.
I also really liked the residential feel of Sea Isle. It wasn’t covered in franchises, but had a few small businesses dotted about. Their was a nice section of restaurants together, a few local essential shops like an Acme, CVS, liquor store and stuff, but it felt totally residential, which is important to me. I prefer these beach towns over the very commercial feel of beaches like Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, where you feel like you’re on a highway with stores.
