The Traffic!
I live in a small suburb area. We get a lot of through traffic since we’re off of 2 major highways, but nothing like what we saw yesterday! The day after Christmas is nuts! What is normally a 10 minute drive yesterday turned into 20-30 minutes! There was a solid line of cars, and they were all going where I was, the Walmart shopping center. Thankfully, I didn’t have to go to Walmart, because the parking lot was mobbed!
We made a side trip to Gamestop, so we were in and out pretty quickly. There was a massive line, but it moved along, and within 5 minutes we were paying and out the door.
Today we went to the movies, and the entire parking lot was full! Usually it’s only about 1/3 full! I guess everyone had the same idea we had. Yet, the grocery store was empty! Also, my husband went to Home Depot, and he said it was pretty quiet there too. I guess it’s just certain types of stores. He could take his time and browse looking at steam cleaners (we need one), Delta faucets, salt (he picked up a few bags) for the driveway, and other stuff.
The funny thing was that when we went to the movies, the lot was mobbed, but there was no line at the ticket counter or the concession stand! I guess most of the crowd was there to see Marley & Me, and the other big new releases. Our timing was at least on!
